Hurghada for Couples: Which Trips Actually Work for Two
Updated October 1, 2026 · 8 min read
For two, a short evening works better in Hurghada than a long day on the water. The safest pick for most couples is the Oasis Sunset Tour with Camel Ride and Stargazing: three hours from €30.59 per person, rated 4.7 from 982 reviews. If you’re staying in Makadi Bay, you’re closer to the BADU Bedouin dinner with stargazing – four hours from €43.84. And if you want the reef without an eight-hour day, there’s the OrangeBay yacht for five hours from €29.75.
“For couples” isn’t a category, just a way of choosing. Operators write “romantic” in the description of practically every boat, and the word is worth nothing: it says nothing about the number of people travelling with you, the time of day, or how many hours you’ll spend on a bus. Three genuinely checkable features, on the other hand, say almost everything.
A private trip instead of shared boarding. Evening instead of midday. A short programme instead of eight hours. Any combination of these three choices changes a day for two more than any adjective in a title.
Five outings for two
| Trip | Duration | from | Rating | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Turkish hammam with a limited number of guests | 2 hours | €28.80 | 4.7 from 1,115 reviews | couples who want an evening with no wind and no travel |
| Oasis Sunset Tour with Camel Ride and Stargazing | 3 hours | €30.59 | 4.7 from 982 reviews | couples who want sunset and stars in one evening |
| BADU Luxury Bedouin Dinner Experience & Stargaze | 4 hours | €43.84 | 4.8 from 256 reviews | couples staying in Makadi Bay |
| Romantic Desert Proposal with Dinner & Stargazing | 4 hours | €108 | 5.0 from 1 review | anyone planning a proposal |
| Orange Bay Yacht, Snorkel, Breakfast, Lunch & Drinks | 5 hours | €29.75 | 4.7 from 769 reviews | couples who want the reef without an eight-hour day |
All five prices are per person: for two, you pay twice.
On the water: fewer people, a different day
Shared boarding on a large boat is the cheapest way to reach the reef, and the most crowded. For two, it’s worth looking at small groups and private trips.
Small group. With the Orange Bay Yacht, Snorkel, Breakfast, Lunch & Drinks – five hours from €29.75 per person, 4.7 from 769 reviews – “small group” is stated right in the listing itself. That’s one of those cases where the wording can be checked rather than guessed.
See the Orange Bay yacht for five hours
Private trip. For two it looks expensive per head – but check first what the starting price actually covers. On some private boats it’s per group of up to two, on others per person, and the difference between those two readings decides everything. We worked through that arithmetic in our piece on the private speedboat and group pricing.
We broke down the difference between a speedboat and a yacht – four hours against a whole day, a bumpy ride against an unhurried one – in a separate comparison. For two, that choice matters more than which island you pick. The rest of the sea trips are gathered under island trips.
Evening: desert, dinner and stars
Evening programmes in Hurghada are cheaper than the sea trips, and almost all built around the same thing: sunset, dinner, telescope.
Oasis at sunset. The Oasis Sunset Tour with Camel Ride and Stargazing runs three hours and costs from €30.59 per person, 4.7 from 982 reviews. Of the three desert evenings listed above, this is the shortest and easiest to plan.
Bedouin dinner. The BADU Luxury Bedouin Dinner Experience & Stargaze in Makadi Bay – four hours from €43.84 per person, 4.8 from 256 reviews. For anyone staying in Makadi Bay, this is the closest evening; from the city, travel time is added on.
On horseback. Beach and desert rides last an hour or two and start under twenty euros; some of them set off at sunset. The whole range of those is gathered under desert safari.
One practical correction: in Hurghada, the sun sets around 4:55 pm in December and around 7:42 pm in June, and it gets dark roughly 25 minutes after sunset. So an “evening” programme starts in daylight in winter, and in summer only once your hotel is already serving dinner. The exact figures, and what follows from them, are in our piece on sunset and late departures.
Hammam and massage: what’s worth checking here
This is the most underrated part of the evening for a couple — short, cheap and not weather-dependent.
The Turkish hammam with a limited number of guests runs two hours and costs from €28.80 per person, 4.7 from 1,115 reviews. The cap on guest numbers is stated right in the listing’s name — that’s a checkable claim, not a promise of atmosphere.
And the most important warning on this subject. The word “massage” also turns up in the names of eight-hour sea cruises. That is not the same thing as a two-hour hammam treatment. Ask about the massage’s length, where it takes place, and whether it’s included in the tariff you’ve chosen, before you count a sea trip as a spa day.
What usually doesn’t work for two
The eight-hour day on a shared boat. It works well as a day programme, but not as a day for two: departure time, route and fellow passengers are fixed, and there’s less free time on the island than the listing suggests.
An evening trip, if you’re staying far out. From Makadi Bay, Soma Bay or Sahl Hasheesh, a shared transfer adds travel time both ways, and that rarely counts towards the stated hours. Ask about pick-up time from your hotel and return time — for your date. We’ve written separately about getting around the city.
Betting on the wind. A sea programme depends on the weather more than a land-based one does. If you only have a couple of free evenings, the land option is more reliable.
If the occasion is special
For the occasion itself, Hurghada has a dedicated offer: the Romantic Desert Proposal with Dinner & Stargazing – a candlelit dinner, a heart-shaped fire show and stargazing with an astronomer, four hours from €108 per person. Rated 5.0, but from just one review: that’s too little to rely on, and the price is per person, so for two you pay twice.
Everything else — cake, flowers, a separate table, a decorated table for an anniversary — isn’t promised by any listing. That doesn’t mean the operator can’t arrange it: it means you need to agree it directly, before paying, and get the confirmation in writing along with the price.
Don’t count anything as included just because you saw it in a photo but didn’t read it in the listing’s text. And don’t book a restaurant table for a time you’ve worked out from someone else’s review: some listings state a duration range of several hours, not an exact return time.
The remaining formats — short, long, sea and land — are gathered in the general things to do in Hurghada section, and what’s worth seeing in the city itself as a couple is covered in our piece on what to see in Hurghada.
Our recommendation
Most couples will be happy with the Oasis Sunset Tour with Camel Ride and Stargazing: three hours from €30.59 per person, 4.7 from 982 reviews. A short evening that doesn’t depend on the swell, and you’re not back in the middle of the night.
If the lowest total and an indoor evening matter most: the Turkish hammam with a limited number of guests, two hours from €28.80 per person.
If you’re staying in Makadi Bay: the BADU Luxury Bedouin Dinner Experience & Stargaze, four hours from €43.84 per person. From the city, travel time both ways is added to those four hours.
If you need the reef: the Orange Bay Yacht, Snorkel, Breakfast, Lunch & Drinks – five hours from €29.75 per person instead of an eight-hour day.
If none of this suits you: if you want to be alone together as a couple, none of these programmes offers that — they’re all group trips. The only way to be alone is on a fully chartered boat, and that costs several times as much.
